This variety came to us highly recommended by pepper expert Mark Waltermire of Thistle Whistle Farm—and it did not disappoint! Chervena Chushka is a Bulgarian heirloom sweet pepper, producing plentiful, long, triangular-shaped fruits that thrive even in short-season climates.

While not quite as early as Jimmy Nardello or Melrose, this variety ripens from green to fire-engine red and delivers absolutely outstanding flavor. With thick, juicy flesh, it’s exceptional when roasted yet equally delicious fresh.
